The responsibility for running a pension scheme is not something to be taken lightly. The Pension Act 2004, the numerous Social Security Acts and a whole panoply of pensions regulations conspire to make the trustees’ and employers’ roles complex and demanding.

Alexander Forbes Trustee Services has the skills and experience to act as an independent professional trustee alongside the existing trustees. This can be particularly useful in situations where the existing pension scheme trustees feel that they are conflicted- for example, where the directors of the sponsoring company also act as trustees of the scheme, or where, perhaps due to concerns over the covenant of the employer or its insolvency, the pension scheme trustees have to wind up the scheme.

We are on the panel of independent trustees approved and maintained by the Pensions Regulator and are active members of  the Trustees Action Group (TACT) and the Independent Pension Trustees Group
